Uppsala Municipality works actively to maintain a clean and pleasant urban environment. The challenge is communicating this in a way that actually engages residents. Through innovative and playful initiatives, the goal was to encourage citizens to take care of their city, making sustainability a natural, and fun, part of everyday life.
THE PARTNERSHIP & EXECUTION
My collaboration with Uppsala spanned nearly a decade, starting in 2017. Working closely on their event communications, I handled everything from motion graphics to extensive print production. My standout project was bringing the sanitation mascot Skräpis to life, eventually producing it as a physical soft toy and temporary tattoos. I also designed artwork for the city’s singing trash cans (Skräpkören) and the Gulavågen cleaning initiative, proving how design and communication can drive public engagement.
